Apple restricts background clipboard access on iPhone and iPad. Save content explicitly using Paste, Share or a Shortcut. The optional keyboard inserts text you have already saved. On Mac, capture can watch the clipboard while enabled.

No developer account is required. Local history works on your device. Optional iCloud synchronization uses your own Apple account.

Check that all devices use the same Apple account, that iCloud is available and that synchronization is enabled in PasteCrate. Keep local items until the other device has received them. Apple service or network interruptions can delay synchronization.

Delete individual items or clear history in the app. If sync is enabled, allow deletion changes to reach other devices. Disabling sync alone does not erase existing remote copies.

Use the feedback entry in the app or email pastecrate@hintlib.com. Feedback sends only the message and attachments you choose plus basic app/device diagnostics when you tap Send.

Open Nearby on both devices and tap Start, allowing Local Network access if requested. Check the random session alias with the other person, select clips, and confirm receiving and saving on the other device. Keep both apps in the foreground. The alias alone does not prove identity. This feature still needs verification between signed devices before the first beta.

PasteCrate cannot reliably know whether another app accepted a paste. Copy the current item, paste it where you need it, then tap Mark Pasted. Queue order and progress are stored locally. Joining remaining text creates a preview without changing the originals.

Deleting history removes entries first. In Settings, Reclaim Unused Attachments removes files no longer referenced by saved clips and preserves attachments that are being saved or synchronized. After reclamation, a deleted attachment cannot be restored with Undo; keep a backup if you need it.
